Little Mountain, SC is a small incorporated town in southeastern Newberry County, located approximately 30 miles northwest of Columbia and 12 miles east of the city of Newberry. The town takes its name from the prominent geological rise it sits beside — a roughly 813-foot monadnock locally known as Mt. Stepps, which is one of the most distinctive landforms in the South Carolina Piedmont. Little Mountain lies just north of Lake Murray and is connected to the Midlands by SC Highway 76, SC Highway 202, and Interstate 26 via the Little Mountain exit.
